Matteo Ragni graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. From 1998 to 2005 he worked in his own studio, Aroundesign, with Giulio Iacchetti. Their project for a biodegradable fork/spoon ‘Moscardino’ won the Compasso d’Oro ADI award, and is now part of the permanent design collection at MOMA, New York.


He combines his work as a designer with teaching in various different international universities, as well as acting as art director and architect. His clients include: Bialetti, Caimi Brevetti, Coin Casa, Coop, Corian Dupont, Danese, De Vecchi, Guzzini, JVC, Liv'it, Mandarina Duck, Meritalia, Mitshubishi, Pandora Design, Pinetti, Piquadro, Poltrona Frau, Samsung, Suisse Lagenthal, and United Pets. AWARDS: 2008 Wallpaper Design Award 2008, Best table lamp, “Leti“, Danese 2003 World Best Design Exchange Seoul, Best Design Product for “Moscardino“, Pandora Design (with Giulio Iacchetti) 2002 MACEF AWARD 2002, first prize Buyers jury for “Ricciolo“, Banal Extra (with Giulio Iacchetti) 2001 XIX COMPASSO D’ORO ADI AWARD, “Moscardino“, winning design (with Giulio Iacchetti) Permanent Design Collection at the MOMA, New York.
