Bretagne | Bed
The base of the Bretagne is composed of spruce blockboard bed frame boards and a poplar plywood footboard with polyurethane foam padding. The feet are made from aluminium with gunmetal grey finish. The headboard consists of a frame in solid poplar, beech and tulipwood, and birch plywood. The padding is in polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The cushions are made from polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. They are attached to the headboard using zip fasteners and velcro strips. The upholstery of the Bretagne bed creates elegant decorative effects, combining Pelle Frau® leather for the bed frame and headboard with removable fabric covers for the cushions. As an alternative, a version entirely upholstered in leather is also available.
Concept and design
For the Bretagne bed Poltrona Frau Style & Design Centre chooses a calibrated and harmonious design that exudes understated elegance. Enveloping and protective like a shell, it is beautifully balanced and draws the attention to the bedhead with its distinctive round shape and variable density padding. Thanks to its slight incline and comfortable cushions, the headboard of the Bretagne is perfect for reading but also guarantees maximum comfort.
